Vagal is a general wellness app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for professional care or a crisis service. In the app, these resources are always at Settings → About → Crisis resources, with or without a subscription.

Common questions
Heart rate isn't showing
Live heart rate needs Apple Watch and permission to read heart rate. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Vagal on your iPhone. Every session still works without it.
I have a new iPhone
Install Vagal and tap Restore Purchases on the paywall. Your subscription comes from your Apple Account, so no Vagal account is needed.
Does Vagal work offline?
Yes. Every practice works offline. Only optional features, such as Cloud Sync, need a connection.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Every session works on iPhone alone, guided by the orb, voice and haptics. Apple Watch adds taps on your wrist and live heart rate.
How does the free trial work?
New subscribers to the annual plan get a 7-day free trial, offered through the App Store. It becomes a paid annual subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Is Vagal a medical device?
No. Vagal is a general wellness app. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and its heart rate figures are not clinical measurements.
